Description
Mountain stream coming down from the Lac Blanc (White Lake in French), with the Aiguille Verte (4122m) in the background lit by the last sunrays of the day. This mountain is one of the most difficult 4000 meter peaks of the Alps. Its successful ascent was realised in 1865 by the famous British climber Edward Whymper accompanied by Christian Almer and Franz Biner. On its right flank rises the Aiguille des Drus (3754m). This peak is famous in the mountaineering world for its long and technically difficult climbing routes and makes it one of the emblematic mountains of the massif.
